Now that summer is just around the corner and term time is nearly over, parents are no doubt thinking about where to go for the family summer holiday.
Seaside holidays can be fun, but with the muggy heat, crowded beaches and often the lack of family entertainment, they’re perhaps not the ideal family get-away. With so many activities on offer in the Alps, a summer holiday at altitude could be a great chance for the family to get away from it all, and get active together!
The pretty village of Les Gets boasts many activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family, no matter what age: Long and short bike rides that take in fantastic views, challenging and gentle walks to discover the fauna and flora, canoeing down peaceful rivers or the excitement of going over rapids when whitewater rafting, long horse-rides in the mountains or short pony rides by the lake. And in such a beautiful and exciting place it’s easy to make your own fun too – explore the village and the woods and slopes surrounding it, or visit one of the stunning local lakes with a picnic.
Les Gets is also well placed for exploring the wider area – it’s less than an hour’s drive to the lake of Geneva with its beaches and boat rides, and the beautiful town of Annecy with its stunning lake is within easy reach too. Visit Chamonix and go up the highest cable car in the world, shoot down slides in Chablais’ aquapark, or stay local and relax in and around Les Gets’ own bathing lake, a stone’s throw away from the tree-top adventure park and go-karting.
If organising all these wonderful activities sounds a bit too much like hard work (you are on holiday, after all), then let us do it for you! We are happy to arrange all your activities, so that you can simply relax and make the most of your holiday.
