How and when you arrive is entirely up to you – we will pick you up from the airport or train station, or if you decide to drive yourself, that’s fine too.
Our transfer day is Sunday. It’s a much quieter day than Saturday, when most other companies do their transfers. The road to the airport is less busy, the airports are less crowded, and queues in the ski hire shop are shorter.
Transfers from Geneva Airport are only 1 hour. We’ll pick you up in a minibus and drop you off right outside the chalet. There’s plenty of room for your skis or board, and we can provide baby seats and booster seats – just let us know.
We will endeavour to be waiting for you on your arrival at the airport, however if you land before 10:00 or after 18:00 we may ask you to wait at the airport for a while before your transfer.
Arranging your own flights means that you can choose which airport and departure times suit you best, and we’ll come and pick you up whenever you arrive. If you’re prepared to get up early enough to catch your flight, we can even get you on the slopes before noon, so you don’t miss a minute’s skiing!
There are plenty of companies that fly to Geneva. The main ones to try are easyjet, bmi, British Airways and Flybe. If you book early enough you can get flights for as little as £20.00. Prices go up and up the longer you wait though, and can reach as much as £200.00 if you book at the last minute.
The drive down from Calais really is straightforward – motorways will take you all the way down to Cluses, then it’s a half hour drive up the mountain to the chalet. You pay tolls when travelling on the motorways in France, and these clock up to about 60 euros from Calais to Cluses. The drive takes about 8hrs.
You can plan your route using google maps. The addresses for the chalets are as follows:
Chalet Elise, 101 Route des Chavannes, 74260 Les Gets.
Chalet Elise des Alpes, 2043 Route des Grandes Alpes, 74260 Les Gets.
