Why do we love the Alps in the summer?
It’s as simple as ABC…

A is for adventure course in the tree tops
B is for beach at Excevenex, on lake Geneva
C is for canyoning, canoeing, climbing…
D is for downhill mountain biking
E is for events program running throughout the summer
F is for fishing, and finding wild blueberries
G is for golf, and going on a petit train tour
H is for horse riding. or hydrospeed (think whitewater at eye level)
I is for indoor swimming pool (there’s a fab outdoor one too)
J is for jump on the huge inflatable Wibbit on the lake
K is for kayak canoes on a peaceful lake, or through whitewater
L is for luge
M is for mountain biking - cross country and family friendly trails
N is for nine pin bowling - well actually it’s ten pin, but who’s counting ;)
O is for open water swimming - Les Gets has its own swimming lake
P is for parapente
Q is for a quintessential Savoie village
R is for road biking
S is for segway through the village and into the hills
T is for tennis
U is for up and down the telecabine to take in the stunning view of Mont Blanc
V is for via ferrata
W is for walking… the trails are endless
X is for X marks the spot - you can do geocaching in Les Gets
Y is for yoga
Z is for zip wire - the fantasticable whips you across the valley near Chatel at 120km/hr!

Les Gets, not just a winter resort

Many people are familiar with visiting the Alps for skiing holidays, but never realise the breadth of activities available during the summer.

Temperatures vary between 20-30c, and with plenty of sunshine the climate is ideal for pursuing the wealth of activities on offer. Whilst being far warmer than the average UK summer, the altitude and gentle winds mean that it is not as blisteringly hot as other summer holidays, giving you the strength to make the most of this fabulous natural playground!

Les Gets has a pleasant buzz in the summer months without getting over-crowded, and the village itself organises a weekly calendar of events to entertain visitors.
Les Gets in Summer

If you have your own transport, you can easily visit some of the neighbouring towns and villages (there is limited public transport). Annecy and Yvoire are great places for a day trip, or why not try the sandy beach on lake Geneva (45mins away), wakeboarding and waterskiing, or a fantastic waterpark in Switzerland?

A fantastic week of activities, loved the canyoning, the hydrospeed and especially the via ferrata. I recommend them all! Thanks for the great guiding on our walks and mountain biking, we have to come back! Diolch!

Fantastic activity holiday, via ferrata was the scariest thing I have ever done – but I will do it again. Jim and Cat are so helpful and friendly as well as excellent chefs. A great family holiday.
