What a great day off it’s been, making the most of all that this area has to offer in the summer months.
In the morning we went on the ski lifts up to the very top of Mont Chery where we took this video – a 360 degree panoramic view of the amazing, snow-capped mountains ( notably Mont Blanc) and the other near-by resorts, like Morzine, Avoriaz and Praz de Lys. It was a wonderful reminder of the awesome scenery that’s all around us here in Les Gets, and of why we love it here in the summer so much.
That afternoon, we drove down to Excenevex on Lake Geneva, where there’s a sandy beach. With the blue sky, beach and warm waters lapping on the shore, it really felt like we were on the Med. Jim and Dan rarely go anywhere without a bat and ball and/or frisbee, and they had a great time making a splash, while Lucas and I made a sand castle, with Dan acting as creative director.
Now that Samuel has just learned to crawl, it was his first time on the sand, and try as we might to keep him on the picnic blanket, there was no stopping the little fella from throwing sand all over the place and making a B-line to the water’s edge.
We rented out some pedalos with a slide, and had a really fun time cruising around the waters, diving in and splashing around.
The life jacket had a strangely soporific effect on Samuel, and he chilled for the entire hour, not making the slightest peep.
We will seriously have to consider buying one and dressing him in it at night!!
